Privacy Policy

This policy explains what My AI Journal handles and where information is stored or sent. Journals and photos are saved on your device; iCloud saving is optional. When you use AI features, the text needed to generate a response is sent to Google Vertex AI through Firebase AI.

Last updated: 2026-09-27

Information saved on your device

Journals, conversation history, and attached photos are stored as app data on your device. The developer does not operate an account server that stores your journal.

Optional iCloud saving

When enabled in Settings, journal data syncs through Apple CloudKit private database. This uses your Apple Account and Apple services. Turning iCloud saving off does not delete data already in iCloud. Deleting a journal may sync that deletion to your other devices, depending on sync status.

AI features (Firebase AI)

When you ask AI to chat or summarize a journal, the text you enter and relevant conversation content are sent through Firebase AI to Google Vertex AI to create a response. Photos attached to a journal are not included in current AI requests. Processing and retention by Firebase AI and Google Cloud follow their service terms, policies, and project settings.

Advertising and consent

The free version uses Google Mobile Ads. For ad delivery and measurement, Google may receive device identifiers such as IDFA when allowed, ad and in-app interaction data, crash and performance information, and an approximate location inferred from the IP address. Google’s consent form may appear depending on your region, and Apple’s prompt lets you choose whether to allow tracking.

Usage analytics (PostHog)

We send event names and limited feature-use details to PostHog, such as screen name, conversation turn count, selected companion, and whether an entry has location data. Events do not include journal text, chat text, photos, or precise location. Session replay and automatic screen or element capture are disabled. The SDK may process diagnostic or device identifier information.

Purchases

Subscriptions, renewals, and restoration are handled through Apple StoreKit and the App Store. The developer does not receive or store your credit card number.

Retention and deletion

Information on your device remains until you delete the journal or photo in the app. Deletions may take time to sync through iCloud. Information received by advertising, analytics, or AI providers is handled and retained under each provider’s settings and policies. The developer may not be able to directly delete records held by those providers.

Support messages and changes

If you email support, we receive your sender address, message, and attachments to respond to your request. Contact ai-diary-journal.help@komuha.com. If the policy changes, the revised date will appear here. Updated: 2026-09-27.
